Use the right narrative tenses of the verbs in brackets to fill in the blanks: past simple, past continuous, past perfect simple, or past perfect continuous.
Dear Alex, Yesterday afternoon, everything seemed under control until the system suddenly (crash) . We immediately understood that something serious (go wrong) . At that moment, the team (work) on the final report, and everyone looked confused. Earlier that day, we (test) the software several times, so the error was unexpected. Some colleagues said they (feel) uneasy about the update for hours before the failure happened. While the IT manager (try) to fix the issue, we discussed possible solutions. In the end, we (decide) to delay the submission by one day. By the time the system was stable again, we (lose) valuable working time. I noticed that everyone (become) quieter as the evening went on.
