When I first started my old office job, I (work) in a small open space with only five people. At that time, I (not like) waking up early, but I had no choice. Every morning, my manager (arrive) before everyone else and (make) coffee for the whole team. We (sit) together near the window and talk about our plans for the day. During lunch breaks, we (go) to the same café across the street. The waiter there (know) our orders by heart. I remember that I (feel) nervous before meetings, but my colleagues were very supportive. After work, we often (stay) late to finish projects, and sometimes we (joke) about quitting our jobs and traveling the world. Back then, the office (be) much quieter than it is now. My boss (not check) emails in the evening, which felt strange compared to today. On Fridays, we (order) takeaway food, and someone always (forget) to bring cash. Looking back, I realize I (enjoy) those simple routines more than I expected.
