A weekend at Greenhill Farm

Last month, my class visited Greenhill Farm for two days. The farm is about an hour from our school by bus. When we arrived, a farmer called Mr. Bell showed us around. He has worked on the farm for more than thirty years, and he knows everything about the animals.

On the first day, we fed the sheep and collected eggs from the chickens. In the afternoon it started to rain, so we went inside and made bread. It was more difficult than I thought, but my bread tasted great! At night we slept in small wooden houses near the fields. I shared mine with two friends, and we could hear the cows outside.

On the second day, the sun came out. We rode horses in the morning — it was my first time, and I was a little afraid at first, but our teacher helped me. Before we left, each student planted a small tree. Mr. Bell says our trees will be tall in ten years, and we can come back to see them. It was the best school trip of my life.
