Questions 6–10. The people below want to do a weekend workshop at the Riverside Arts Centre. Read the descriptions of eight workshops and decide which one is most suitable for each person. There are THREE workshops you do NOT need to use.
Weekend workshops at the Riverside Arts Centre
A – Bread from Scratch
No experience needed. Over one weekend you will mix, shape and bake four kinds of bread in our kitchen, and take everything home. Aprons and ingredients are provided; just bring a bag for your loaves.
B – Digital Photo Editing
For people who already take photographs and want them to look better. Bring your own pictures on a memory card and learn to correct light and colour on a computer. Laptops are provided.
C – Beginner's Woodwork
Learn to use hand tools safely and make a small box or a bird house to take home. All tools and wood are included. Suitable for adults with no experience. Great for anyone who wants to make things with children later.
D – Growing Food on a Balcony
You don't need a garden to grow your own food. This workshop shows you how to grow herbs, tomatoes and salad in pots in a very small outdoor space, even in the city.
E – The Writers' Circle
Bring a short story or a few pages of your writing. You will read your work to a friendly group, listen to other writers, and go home with useful comments to help you improve.
F – Watercolour Landscapes
Paint hills, rivers and skies with a professional artist. Paper and paints are provided. No drawing experience necessary.
G – Pottery for Beginners
Make a bowl and a mug with your hands and on the wheel. Your pieces are fired in our oven and can be collected two weeks later.
H – Guitar in a Weekend
Learn your first chords and play a simple song by Sunday evening. Guitars can be borrowed for the weekend.
