Book Review: The Last Garden by Priya Sen

Have you ever wondered how a small community can protect a place that matters to everyone? The Last Garden is novel about friendship and environmental change. The story Nia, a fourteen-year-old who learns that her neighbourhood garden may be replaced by a car park. Together with her new neighbour Tomas, she searches for evidence that the land was once given to local families. The book themes such as belonging, cooperation and the relationship between people and nature. It also how young people can make a difference when adults listen to them. The novel is in warm, accessible language, and the descriptions of plants and city life are vivid without being too long. I the way Nia becomes more confident while learning to accept help from other people. A few conversations felt , especially near the ending, but the central mystery kept me interested. Overall, I would recommend this hopeful story to teenagers and adults who enjoy realistic fiction with a positive message.
