Days, Months and Seasons Explanation
In this A1 Elementary Vocabulary Lesson you will learn the Names of all the Days, Months and Seasons. The following picture and examples will help you understand and remember the terms.

Weekdays
There are seven days in a week:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
In most countries, Monday is the first day of the week. In some countries, like the United States, Sunday is the first day of the week. There are 5 working days , Monday to Friday . There are 2 weekend days , Saturday and Sunday .
Days of the week are capitalized. which means the first letter is a CAPITAL letter:
- I start work early on monday. Incorrect
- I start work early on Monday. Correct
Months of the Year
There are twelve months in a year:
- January
- February
- March
- April
- May
- June
- July
- August
- September
- October
- November
- December
Months of the year are capitalized as well.
- I don’t like february because it’s very cold. Incorrect
- I don’t like February because it’s very cold. Correct
The Four Seasons
There are four seasons:
- autumn (UK) / fall (US)
- winter
- spring
- summer
In the US, they say “fall,” but in the UK and other countries they say “autumn.”
the seasons are not uppercase.
